This is one of the
reasons I keep stopping at the reservoir. I got great shots of this
Red Tail Hawk on two separate days. It was almost as if he were
waiting to pose for me. Click on the thumbnails for a larger view. |

My first "in flight"
picture. Not great but I kept it. |
This one is just a
random hawk I caught while driving home. |
He knows I'm there but
doesn't seem to care. |
Sitting on a branch
not more than 10 feet away from me. |

I thought he was
getting ready to leave but he was just loosening up. |
This Coopers Hawk
decided to move in on the staked out territory. |

My "model" didn't take
kindly to the intrusion. |
He kept a close eye on
the interloper. |

On a different day
this guy sat in a tree only 5 feet from me. |
I think this is the
best shot of the bunch. |
He thought he had a
snack snared. |
Still after the prey
here. |
Continuing the vigil
but with no luck. |
After 20 minutes or so it's
time to be moving on. |
